Gervais Street Bridge… One Year in the Making.
I’ve been saving this photo because it’s one of my favorites… and I didn’t even take it! Credit for this photo goes to my dad. Awesome composition, in my opinion! I’ve played around with this picture so many times. It’s basically our backyard, it’s a very cool bridge, and the man that I inherited my photography gene from took it… all good reasons for it to be a personal favorite.
I’ve waited to post this until today because this blog is officially 1 year old (as of yesterday), and somehow it just seemed fitting. One year ago, I introduced the world to our spoiled little puppy, Zoe (check her out here!), and I hope you’ve enjoyed all of the posts since.
Thanks for your support… here’s to another great year!
Reminiscing Spring.
So South Carolina is in the middle of a snow storm… and everything is shut down. Zoe and I have been cooped up inside all day and tomorrow is promising more of the same. Needed a little reminiscent Spring-time pick-me-up.
Wish I remembered what type of flower this is. I loved how soft the petals were. Too bad I don’t have much of a green thumb and this little guy didn’t last long… Maybe next spring!
Vintage Arch and Vine.
Welcome to Palmetto Compress and Warehouse. This building is one of my favorite hidden gems in Columbia, especially this section with the climbing vines. when we first moved to South Carolina, Michael and I had a blast exploring our new city, and this building was our best find! Check out this post (New Perspective on an Old Warehouse) for more pictures of Palmetto Compress and Warehouse!
“A building does not have to be an important work of architecture to become a first-rate landmark. Landmarks are not created by architects. They are fashioned by those who encounter them after they are built. The essential feature of a landmark is not its design, but the place it holds in a city’s memory. Compared to the place it occupies in social history, a landmark’s artistic qualities are incidental.”
